Katie is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Calgary. She began playing the guitar at age 6 and has studied a variety of styles before staying with the classical guitar. She has studied with Ralph Maier, professor at University of Calgary, since she was in Grade 11. Katie is highly involved with the University Big band and is fluent on Bass as well.

 

Katie also plays the piccolo and flute with the Calgary Stampede Showband. This is her 7th year with the show bands, and she has travalled all around Alberta, Vancouver, Chicago, South Korea, Great Britain and Western Europe with this group.   Katie loves performing and teaching. She enjoys sharing her experiences with her students.
