Lisa began her music learning at the age of 9 learning the digital organ. At the age of 16 she continued by learning the Royal Conservatory of Music program where she gained her Grade 10 diploma in the year of 2001. Lisa also competed in numerous festivals such as the Technics Music Academy Festival, and United Music League Festival where she won several scholarships, medals and trophies during her competitive years on both the organ and piano. In 1992, Lisa was chosen to perform at the World Expo in Seville, Spain on Canada day and played for representatives of the King and Queen of Spain in the famous El Escorial palace in Madrid, Spain. In 1994 & 1995, Lisa was a competitor in the Youth Talent Showdown at the Calgary Stampede and competed at Music Fest in Toronto.
In 2003, Lisa received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Calgary specializing in Secondary Education. In 2007, she also received her Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Elementary Education from the Master Teacher program at the U of C. Lisa first started teaching keyboard instruments in the fall of 1997 upon graduating high school. In 1998, she joined the staff at Irene Besse Keyboards where she was an instructor for 9 years. In May 2011, Lisa received an Honourable Mention for the Royal Conservatory Teacher of the Year Award contest. She is currently running her own music studio in addition to working with Musica Academy for the past 5 years. She has been on a panel of judges for both the Chinatown Lions Club Talent show and the United Music League festival in Calgary.
