Introducing: Ms Marcia McCarthy, Piano
Marcia McCarthy was born and raised in Winnipeg where she received her formal music training. She performed in many musical festivals as a young performer and received the Beryl Ferguson, Institute of Chartered Piano tuners and the coveted Aikins trophies. Marcia was a church pipe organist for 6 years, developing a love for sacred music. She is also well versed in the classical, popular and jazz music fields. Marcia has her ARCT in piano performance and is a licensed examiner and adjudicator. Marcia has adjudicated over 10,000 performers across Canada. She studied advanced piano performance with the late Boris Roubakin at the Banff School of Fine Arts. She brings to her students over 25 years of teaching experience. Many of Marcia’s students have received top marks in examinations and festivals across Canada. The prime thing Marcia brings to the Musica Academy is her great love for music and the desire to pass it on to her students.
