Young Musician Course Age 6-8
The Young Musicians Course is a three-year program. Students participate in activities that teach necessary musical skills and encourage independence, creativity, and self-expression through a variety of activities such as ear training, singing, ensemble playing, and music theory.

First Year of the Three-Year Young Musician Course for 6 - 8-year-old beginners

Students learn basic music concepts and keyboarding skills through Hear-Sing-Play-Read

A keyboard/piano is required at home for practicing.

Students are encouraged to complete the Yamaha Grade 13, 12, or 11 Exams in May.

YMC follows the Yamaha Music Curriculum and it is offered internationally in 40 different countries.

Year 1: Book 1 & 2. Yamaha Grade 13/12/11 Exam
Year 2: Book 3 & 4. Complete Yamaha Grade 10 Exam
Year 3: Book 5 & 6. Complete Yamaha Grade 9 Exam

This is an In-person Class. Face coverings are recommended for all classes. Should In-person Classes shut down due to AHS's recommendation for Covid-19, all classes will continue online.
